To make sure you have gas, electricity and water from day one, we’ll forward your details to an appropriate supplier and arrange for your home to be connected before you move in.

You’ll find details of your energy provider in your welcome pack. If you don’t have a copy to hand, you’ll find everything you need to know on the Ofgem website.

When and how you receive your bills depends on how you pay for your energy. If you are paying by direct debit, a fixed payment will be taken from your bank account each month. If you pay for your energy as you use it, you will receive a bill at the end of each quarter.

We will take a meter reading before you move in and send it to your supplier when we give them your details. They will use this as a starting point and then estimate how much energy you have used based on average usage.

To make sure your bills are accurate and up-to-date we recommend that you take a meter reading and send it to your energy supplier as soon as you’ve settled into your new home.

Read the dials from left to right, starting with the dial marked 10,000 (Ignore the dial marked 1/10). If the pointer is between two numbers, always write down the lower number. If your meter is different from the one shown, please contact your electricity supplier for more information.

Read the four dials from left to right along the bottom row only (ignore any other numbers). If the pointer is between two numbers, always write down the lower number. If your meter is different from the one shown, contact your gas supplier for more information.
